Hi there! You can call me Beetle [they/them]! Most things posted here will be cross-posted to or from my main art blog @theelvishfiddler.

The art might fluctuate in quality and style as I experiment with new techniques for inking and colouring. As they say, the only way to get better at making comics is to make comics... and I am so easily enamoured by long comic projects.

is mildly paranoid about being found out by one of her former siblings for vengeance reasons. because of that she doesn't like getting close to people

^^ isn't necessarily 'friendly' because of this but still likes showing off

chihiro's father is a major software developer, but chihiro was the one who helped him maintain his company and grow it into a super big tech giant. is expected by everyone around him to inherit it and grow it even more

he acts more friendly compared to canon byakuya, mostly because he knows how to use his appearance to manipulate people

is also used to being manipulated in turn, so any attempts to get close to him get totally shut down

i think they'd see themselves in each other and not know how to deal with that

The first stumbling block comes sooner than expected. 

It’s also incredibly embarrassing.

Fett looks away from him, drops his smile and drops his eyes as he walks with purpose to the elevator. It is something that Skywalker has always appreciated about Cody Fett, though he’d never in a million years fess up to admiring anything about the second-in-command. But it has to be said, now at the end of the world and all things soft and precious and beautiful, that the man has always been made for action. He jumps before you can tell him how high. He doesn’t even ask; you never have to tell him twice. 

There is a plan, established between the two of them. Loose as it may be, it’s still a plan. And plans have steps, have actionable items that must be carried out.

And Fett is a man of action.

Finding clothes to wear is difficult, but it is done with extreme precision. There is no place in the entire world Anakin Skywalker knows better than this loft apartment. He has every detail memorized, locked into his mind, etched into the very fabric of his soul. I feel like there’s a lot to be said about Azriel’s weird relationship with women because it ain’t normal.Like he has this pattern of falling for women that are unattainable,women he knows are unattainable,but that just makes him want them more.Specifically because them being unattainable eliminates the potential of ever being in a relationship with them which he can’t handle because he believes he’s unworthy of them.He also puts them on this weird pedestal where he sees them as divine and pure,and he thinks if he comes near them he’ll taint them with all his baggage which just continuously feeds into his self worth issues.

And despite these women already being unattainable azriel makes them even more unattainable by distancing himself from them,avoiding them,and just acting unbelievably weird around them.He essentially builds this huge bridge between him and these women so he can no longer just crush on them like a normal person,he can only obsess from afar.And because he’s distanced himself so much from these women,he ends up not even knowing who they really are and he’s literally obsessing over some idealized version of them.On top of all of this he’s got the “I’m not good enough/Im too dangerous” mindset but he’s got an obsessive personality so he ends up never moving on from the women he’s trying to push away.

So this combined with his hero complex and inferiority complex is just a recipe for disaster.

This probably has everything to do with his mommy issues and self worth issues but azriel being slightly off putting and weird is just a little fascinating to me.

Also, about the holoforms post, okay, they don't have it for the sake of development and plot, but what is the in-universe explanation for them not to have acces to holoforms? Don't they have the tech for it or just the knowledge to make it?

Cybertron was an intergalactic colonial empire, so many bots who dealt with alien words, whether as diplomats or infiltrators, took advantage of Holoform. But outside of dealing with alien races, holoforms don't have many uses that couldn't be accomplished by other cheaper, easier means, so Holoforms are extremely niche and were only really owned by those who needed to use Holoform.

Went back to compare shima-ujie interactions

It’s interesting how the words revolving around Shima and Ujie when he was practising volleyball in chapter 41 compare to what their interactions this chapter(61) were.

Shima had said before how he couldn’t get angry before bc he couldn’t empathise, but here he is, clearly upset. He’s come far from the kid who wouldn’t bother getting upset bc ‘it’s not worth it’. What specifically changed though?

Let’s compare to Mitsumi in the past. She was upset in chapter 41 when ujie told her to stop playing a good person, bc it means something to her to look out for other people, and she values it. She could empathise with ujies pain and yet he treated her with disdain in response.

Shima however didn’t care at the time. But now, he’s finally learning to look forward and go after what he wants, so when ujie says what he does, it hurts him. It’s like a dismissal of what he’s working toward, but it scares him bc it’s also a feeling he empathises with.

Ujie says here he probably doesn’t understand that. But Shima got mad bc he DOES UNDERSTAND, it’s a point of contention for him that he just can ‘play along’ in whatever way to please others. He wants to change that though and Ujie hadn’t recognised it.

There’s also the case of how he still holds in a lot of self-hatred for the type of person he is, imo. He finds it incredibly hard to be ‘selfish’, and it’s already taken so much for him to chase acting again, but there’s always this worry that he’s just taking advantage of the people around him. Even though him pursuing this doesn’t logically hurt them at all.

In the end though, when he does talk to Ujie again to explain what he thought, it comes back to the words of assurance he himself gave Ujie in chapter 41

Because since that chapter he DOES know what it’s like to try hard for something, he DOES care about the role he worked towards, it’s NOT a role he stole from someone more deserving. And in the end, it resonates with Ujie too.

I've been trying to find the Link Click manhua for real but I haven't had any luck so far - no scanlations have picked this project, the official English release dropped it apparently a year ago and I've only found the raws.

I have no other choice. I will read the 52 chapters with my HSK2, Pleco and Google translate or so it helps me.
